Did you know your dog is about as smart as a 2-year-old child? For this reason children and dogs get along so well. Well, because they clearly speak the same language. Or at minimum, they understand the same amount of words and/or gestures which is just about 250!

Interestingly enough they 'knew' more or less the exact time of owners return or when they were leaving.


Whiskers are what help your dog see at night, because her whiskers pick up on the subtle changes in the surrounding air, and through this they can tell speed, size, and distance of any objects in their vicinity.


Dogs have sweat glands located only in between the pads of their paws. This is why it relies on panting to cool down. It is also advisable to wet your pets paws on extremely hot days to help keep them cool and comfy.


Dogs have ten more adult teeth than we do, of course that is 42 of theirs versus our 32.


Puppies are born deaf, but that quickly changes and then they surpass our hearing ability. Dogs can also hear higher pitched sounds, detecting a range in frequency of around 67 to 45,000 hertz.

Your pet dog's sense of smell is well over 1,000 and closer to 10 million times better than your sense of smell.

Your dog will pick up on subtle changes in your scent, this helps her figure out how you are feeling. When they say they can smell your fear-that is because she is smelling your perspiration as you become fearful. Dogs can detect certain diseases and will also know if someone is pregnant.
