Kennels
Founded in 1974 by Maria Cecilia Martinez, Southernwind Kennels is built upon more than five decades of hands-on breeding, training, judging, canine development, and work alongside police programs. Our approach combines lived experience with current canine science, careful health screening, functional structure, and purposeful early development. We do not breed for fashion, exaggeration, or color alone. We breed dogs capable of living soundly, thinking clearly, and becoming dependable companions or working partners.

I study health, pedigree, temperament, functional structure, and working ability, considering what each parent may contribute to the next generation. Every puppy is raised through purposeful sensory, environmental, social, and developmental experiences intended to support resilience, adaptability, and confidence. We cannot promise biological perfection—no honest breeder can.

Visiting Southernwind Kennels
Visits are available by appointment through our one-hour Meet & Greet. The $100 non-refundable consultation fee gives prospective families an opportunity to meet appropriate available puppies, learn about our breeding and development program, and ask questions directly.
To protect our puppies, visits are limited to three guests, must not follow a same-day visit to another breeder, and are scheduled only after the appropriate vaccination milestone.
